Being football fans, the three of us have collected some weird and wonderful items related to the beautiful game over the years. There are kits from all corners of the globe and in colours that need to be seen to be believed as well as cushions, programmes and dodgy boots.
Football is histories favourite sport and with worldwide tournaments such as the World Cup, Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup etc. it continues to attract us as fans, and the demand of getting memorabilia and collectibles is a must. Who wouldn’t want a signed football shirt from the one and only Pele? As we all know having these collectables can cost quiet a lot of money, we got our first taste of the true value behind owning a piece of footballing history after winning a few unlikely accumulators on some betting sites and using some of our money to purchase what we have in our collectables.
Our plan is to show them off on The Football Project. When you see Ryan’s Manchester United top with “Richardson 23″ on the back, yes Kieran Richardson, Andy’s bright yellow Blackburn shirt of the mid 90′s or Gary’s Croatian abomination, you’ll no doubt feel sorry for us. Hopefully along the way, you find a couple you think are pretty cool.
Want to get involved? Send us a couple of snaps of your own peculiar shirts/merchandise to collection[at]thefootballproject.net with a little bit on the story behind it and we’ll feature it in the coming weeks.
